“If you do what you did, you get what you got” Anonymous,Meditations from the Mat Day 6, Rolf Gates and Katrina Kenison

I have been struggling with the idea of what to write in my first post for a few days now. I have put so much pressure on myself to ensure I string together the right words for my possible readers, then I read this today.

Basically, it is so good I just have to share it.

“Renunciation on its own has no staying power. You can renounce bananas all you like, but if you continue to live in your banana home on your banana street, if you keep your job at the banana warehouse and hang out with your banana-gobbling friends, you’ll be eating bananas before you know it.” Meditations from the Mat by Rolf Gates and Katrina Kenison.

I love yoga, and that is a reoccurring theme you will probably find here a lot. Rolf and Katrina hit on the idea that many people attend yoga a few times a week and are entranced by the lifestyle that accompanies it and mistakenly they believe if they just go to a few more classes or go to a better studio, or on a retreat, their entire life will change. Yoga CAN change your life,  but how much it changes is up to you (and most of the changes we aspire to see won’t be found within the walls of our 1 hour class). 😉

I try not to worry about how many “likes” I have on Facebook or “followers” on instagram, but I really felt the need to start this blog so other women out there who are busting their butts as Mom’s, Wives, Employee’s, Bosses, etc. WHATEVER their label may be can see my journey and know achieving balance in this wacked-out life just may be possible.

That being said, this is going to be a journey for you and for me. I am not perfect, and i do not want to be, I just want to be the best version of myself I can be–for me.

So it occurred to me that my little sentence blurb about balance blahbittyblah really doesn’t tell you who I am.

Anyone else hate writing about themselves? Im going to bullet so I don’t feel so conceited.

So here’s the nitty gritty:

Clay-diggity–super awesome and supportive hubs)

Norah Catherine–best 3 year old spawn a lady could ask for)

Fergus Leonidus Orion–worlds most chill little fur beast (cat)

Realty Specialist–basically I look at the fancy footprint the super smart engineers come up with overlaid with a map of real estate parcels and say things like “I suggest we move point x ten feet to the left because currently you are building a wall straight though the helo pad at the hospital.” 😂 it’s more fun than it sounds

We just moved to Galveston Island from Arkansas for my job–which I love, but yoga is my passion.

I am on the path to yoga teacher training and currently don’t plan to quit my job or anything to pursue that, but my end goal is to be able to host donation only classes on the beach here and actually know what I’m talking about. Also the appeal to know enough background to help others with their practice is great.

Really I’m quite normal. We like to binge watch Netflix shows, I’m addicted to coffee, we love the beach…

Anyway. So that’s me in a nutshell.
